Visit to Slains Castle

On Thursday the AWA Explorers took a hike to see Slains Castle and Bullers of Buchan by Cruden Bay (about a 45 minute drive away). This coastal hike/walk passed the impressive ruins of Slains Castle, the inspiration for Dracula, and reached the Bullers of Buchan, a massive blow hole with several natural arches. It was a rough coast path, muddy in places with steep, unprotected cliffs. We completed the hike in about 3 hours, despite the cold and wind (BRRR!) The cliffs and ruins were very impressive! I had a great time with this group of ladies!!
