No Training Wheels!

Well I have put this off too long! Trent has been ready for a bike without training wheels for a a while now and I told myself we have got to practice before his 5th birthday. I was preparing myself for this...bought the new helmet, elbow guards, knee guards, and I was ready to run down the street with him over and over in this heat. Little did I know that  my big boy would just take off on his first try. No problems here, he rode down the sloped driveway, turned onto the street, rode all the way around the cul-de-sac and back to the house. He made it look so easy and Mommy was a little surprised! I'm so proud of my big boy Trent!

Astros!

Well this may have been our last Astros game for a LONG time! Of course there wasn't much activity in the first 9 innings, Landon was anxiously waiting for the train to move (it moves when the Astros hit a home run). Trent was anxiously waiting for Hunter Pence to hit a home run! Dissapointed by both of the above, we left at the 9th inning and the Astros played 14 innings! Final Score: Mets 3, Astros 2. We still had a good time though, our boys LOVE baseball.

One Sweet Little Girl

Our niece, Ally Renee Korenek was born on Tuesday, August 10 at 10:14 pm! We are so excited to welcome her to the family. Congratulations to my sister, Jill and brother in law, Kyle! She is such a beautiful little girl and we are in love with her. Trent and Landon have made several trips to the hospital to see her and beg to go back everyday, they are so excited to have a new baby cousin. They love to hold her and talk to her, it is so cute.

Big Changes Coming our Way!

We are MOVING...overseas! Its official, our family will be moving to Aberdeen, Scotland for a few years as Jon has accepted a position as Regional VP of Europe and Africa for Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. We are both excited and nervous at the same time about moving, it will be such a big change for us. I look forward to seeing Europe (London, Paris, Rome and more.) There are so many places to visit, not to mention trains to go anywhere! For those of you who know Trent and Landon, the trains will be an exciting thing for them. They will be attending the International School in Aberdeen as Trent will start Pre-K and Landon will start Pre-K3.

The hard part is that we will miss our family and friends dearly during this time away but we will be back during the year to visit occasionally. Eventually, we will be back to live in Sugar Land. We plan on selling our current home. Please pray for the journey ahead of us and for a smooth transition, both during the moving process and as we adjust to living in a new country. We would love to stay in touch with family and friends, thankfully there are so many means to keep in touch now including facebook and our blog! You can become a follower of our blog: therichardsboys.blogspot.com. Just go to that website and at the bottom of the page click on “Follow”. I will be updating it weekly. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement!

SUMMER TIME - This and That

Yikes! The summer is flying by and I just found some time to update the blog. We are constantly trying to stay busy now that the boys are 3 and 4 and like to be outside most of the time! I barely have time to sit at the computer in the house and edit photos. Between the bay house and vacations, visits to El Campo we have officially been out of town every weekend. We are having a blast but I must say I'm a little tired of packing and unpacking. Here are a few pictures of our summer so far...
